Throughout our business, we are committed to giving young people the opportunity to progress. That’s why we were one of the first businesses to sign the Social Mobility Pledge.
Becoming a Social Mobility Pledge accredited employer demonstrates commitment to accessing and progressing talent from all backgrounds. The Pledge was launched by Justine Greening MP and the Harrison Centre for Social Mobility in Spring 2018, and over two million UK employees are now covered.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be taking a look at how our commitment to social mobility over the years has helped to support career progression in our business.
Jamie Sexton, Head Of Operations
After leaving university 13 years ago, I started work at True Potential in the implementation team, working with directly authorised firms to implement their business onto the True Potential Platform. I was also responsible for training advisers on True Potential’s systems and data integration. I have worked in various other roles, including support, sales and auto enrolment.
I am particularly proud of my work in setting up True Potential’s auto enrolment service. Auto enrolment was a new project for True Potential when I was given the opportunity to build a system and grow a team to establish True Potential in the market. It has been a really challenging two years, but hugely rewarding and I truly believe we have one of the strongest propositions in the market.
Today I lead the central advice team. I am responsible for around a quarter of new sales into the business as well as managing True Potential’s training academy.
In 2018 I was promoted to group board level and am now involved in strategic decision making for the business. This would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of the senior team at True Potential.
I was given multiple roles throughout the company to build both my understanding and skills and, with the senior team’s support, achieved a Level 4 diploma in financial advice.
