Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project has received a £2,500 donation from True Potential to help continue its work post-lockdown with young people in Cramlington.
Established as a charity in 1990, the work at Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project is focused on offering a range of opportunities than can further the social and personal development of young people.
They provide a safe and friendly venue that meets the changing needs and desires of young people with differing ages and abilities.
The organisation was nominated for a donation from True Potential by local Blyth Valley MP Ian Levy, who praised CVYP’s work in the community
Each month True Potential selects a local charity to fundraise for. Employees raise as much money as they can through a range of activities, with the total amount raised match funded by the business.
Over the last 18 months, £400,000 has been donated by True Potential and its partner, the Harrison Foundation, to local and national charities to help them through the pandemic and in the recovery.
True Potential’s Chief Executive and Harrison Foundation trustee, Daniel Harrison, said:
“True Potential is a big believer in a hand up and we’ve always sought to help those local unsung heroes and charities who do amazing work on the ground. We’re especially proud to support young and disadvantaged people or communities where there is a greater need.

Claire Gascoigne Youth Development Coordinator at Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project said: “We are really grateful for the generous donation from True Potential and Ian Levy for nominating us. This will make a big difference for the young people after the past year of restrictions and lack of opportunities to socialise and get much needed support. Young people with disabilities, young carers and those who attend our pop up activities will benefit from this support.”
